La Valouze is the epitome of romance; enveloped by 34 hectares of parkland and surrounded by the plush green fields, rivers and forests of the Dordogne (known for its truffles, vinyards and gastronomy), the castle is architecturally exquisite both inside and out. Standout features include white turrets, an orangerie, a grand double staircase, a chic basement bar, and an outdoor swimming pool with its very own pool house.
Your wedding Reception
Many couples choose to host their reception in the grand ballroom, which can host up to 150 guests, before spilling out onto the generously sized terrace for pre-dinner cocktails. For those wishing to dine outside, the terrace can also be dressed with garden tables to create a relaxed ‘village provencal’ style ambience.
If you are seeking a winter destination wedding, the chateau’s unique winter garden can be used. This beautiful area on the western side of the castle features a glass marquee and offers the perfect space to enjoy cocktails, dinner and spectacular park views, whilst keeping snug despite the elements.
The chateau, which can sleep up to 61 guests, also boasts a grand reception hall, a beautifully appointed drawing room, a grand dining room, 17 bedrooms and a very chic basement bar, reminiscent of a cool underground ’60s jazz club – perfect for dancing the night away.
The team at the chateau specialises in creating the most magical, memorable events; what’s more, because it is gay-run, you can rest assured everyone will be made to feel welcome.
“It’s important to us that everyone – from our youngest guest to our oldest – enjoys this beautiful venue and its setting, and we work hard to ensure every wedding we hold runs smoothly from start to finish, encouraging and helping our couples to design the wedding of their dreams.” Juan – Chateau de la Valouze
