Sticking to their motto of “informal luxury”, your hosts aim to create a tailor-made home away from home experience for you, facilitating every aspect of your time with them from the booking of restaurants, to tour, winery visits and more.

Breakfast on the terrace; cocktails by the pool

To start your day, a Continental breakfast is served on the Terrace and guests relaxing at the villa during the afternoon are offered an informal lunch.
In the evening, after drinks by the pool, the hosts can make reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. On select evenings, a dinner party can be enjoyed at the Villa.

Relax among the olive groves

Set in the olive groves of the Villa, the swimming pool is an excellent location in which to relax, read a book, take the sun or simply admire the view with afternoon tea or a cocktail – whatever the mood takes you!

If you’re feeling energetic, take advantage of the tennis court or use one of the Villas mountain bikes and explore the beautiful Tuscan surroundings.
The pool is officially open from 1st May to the 30th Sept.


Fontelunga serves breakfast and lunch on the terrace are organises private dinner parties for guests twice a week. In the cooler months dining takes place under the barrel vaulted living area of the villa or under an elegant gazebo by the fire in the garden.

Self catering guests received a welcome hamper of food including a bottle of our home produced olive oil – freshly made from our groves in the garden. A private chef can also be organised.


Fontelunga is licensed to hold weddings, however same-sex marriage is not yet legalized in Italy.


Villa Fontelunga is located in an area of Tuscany called the Valdichiana all the properties are within 15 minutes drive from the main Italian Autostrada the A1 so access to the properties, and to the surrounding historic sites, is convenient and an easy stop if you are touring Italy.
Situated 1.45 minutes drive north of Rome and 50 minutes South of Florence the Fontelunga properties are perfectly placed from which to explore this the heart of Tuscany.

The famous historic town of Cortona is only 20 minutes drive away, its impressive walls having their routes with the Etruscans a people living here 2500 years ago! We are 25 minutes from Arezzo, our local city, described as Tuscany’s hidden gem and our valley has around it the three main wine regions of Tuscany; to the North Chianti, South Montepulciano and the West Montalcino, all within 45 minutes Drive. The icing on the cake is the unique city of Siena only 40 minutes up the road.

Apart from all the above there is the beautiful countryside to drive though and the many stunning hill top towns and a variety of fantastic restaurants within 5 minutes drive to discover.


3 Pools, jacuzzi, tennis court, WiFi, restaurant, gardens, tennis courts, mountain bikes to borrow, library of books, DVDs and CDS, free WiFi in all rooms and communal areas.

In rooms

Every room has double-aspect views and the junior suite has a TV and DVD player too and French windows opening out onto it’s own private terrace. Rooms also include WiFi, and bottled water, air conditioning, a stereo CD player and IPod Dock, telephone and modern en-suite showers and bathrooms with Molton Brown bathing products.

Il Goccino – sophisticated Tuscan cuisine 15mins from the Villas.
Il Teatro – elegant dining in the famous town of Cortona, 25 mins away.
La Bandita – famous restaurant from Walter Radelli Hosteria
la vecchia rota – the local member of the “slow food” only 10 mins from the Villas

The local pizzeria is a great place to have a beer and enjoy a delicious pizza.
